The Cleaning Guy LLC is an office cleaning company in the Flint Michigan area. They offer multiple cleaning services like commercial carpet cleaning, floor maintenance, window washing and general office cleaning.
It is very important to us at The Cleaning Guy LLC that we offer a very professional, hospital grade cleaning and disinfecting program for our customers and facilities to do our part at preventing the spread of SARS-CoV-2… the virus that causes COVID-19.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) believes that touching your face with your hands after touching a surface that the Covid-19 virus droplets have landed upon can quite possibly give you the virus.
“Cleaning staff should clean and disinfect all areas such as offices, bathrooms, common areas, shared electronic equipment (like tablets, touch screens, keyboards, remote controls, and ATM machines) used by the ill persons, focusing especially on frequently touched surfaces.”

Janitorial Services Flint Michigan
Janitorial services in the Flint Michigan area should be willing to offer at least a similar simple 3 step cleaning program for removing these germs and to potentially help kill this virus before you and your employees have a chance to contract it.
The following is the CDC’s proper cleaning process for nonporous surfaces to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
- 1) Remove All Debris from Area
For the first procedure some cleaning companies like to use a hepa filter vacuuming system to remove surface dust and dirt but a simple micro-fiber cleaning rag with a little vinegar-based glass cleaner does the trick most of the time. Since such things as grime, dust and surface dirt can affect your disinfectant’s productiveness it is paramount that the cleaning person remove these items first.
- 2) Use A Neutralizer To Clean Surface
According to the CDC, for surfaces that are hard and non-porous surfaces – “If surfaces are dirty, they should be cleaned using a detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection”. https://www.cdc.gov
It would be our suggestion to use a glass cleaner with vinegar or a light non-caustic degreaser of some kind (always use manufactures recommendations) with a micro-fiber rag to wipe all surfaces down first. Then come back through and rewipe area with an EPA approved disinfectant https://www.epa.gov/pesticide-registration/list-n-disinfectants-use-against-sars-cov-2 like the one we currently use here as step number 3 suggests below. https://www.spartanchemical.com/products/product/120204/
“Soiled areas that have grease, dirt, grime and other debris can work against the disinfectants capability to kill the virus and that is why it is very important that areas be cleaned first. Starting with a neutralizing cleaner can help remove items that will lower the results of your disinfectant.”
https://www.cdc.gov
CDC further recommends – “For soft (porous) surfaces such as carpeted floor, rugs, and drapes, remove visible contamination if present and clean with appropriate cleaners indicated for use on these surfaces. After cleaning: If the items can be laundered, launder items in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions using the warmest appropriate water setting for the items and then dry items completely.”https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/organizations/cleaning-disinfection.html

- 3. Disinfecting The Surface
Can the coronavirus that causes COVID-19 survive on surfaces? If so, how long?
A Recent Study From Harvard Medical School
The following is a direct quote from the Harvard Medical School website
“…the COVID-19 coronavirus can survive up to four hours on copper, up to 24 hours on cardboard, and up to two to three days on plastic and stainless steel. The researchers also found that this virus can hang out as droplets in the air for up to three hours before they fall. But most often they will fall more quickly.
There’s a lot we still don’t know, such as how different conditions, such as exposure to sunlight, heat, or cold, can affect these survival times.
As we learn more, continue to follow the CDC’s recommendations for cleaning frequently touched surfaces and objects every day. These include counters, tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, toilets, phones, keyboards, tablets, and bedside tables. In addition, wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water after bringing in packages, or trips to the grocery store or other places where you may have come into contact with infected surfaces.”

The above information shows how important it is to disinfect commonly used areas. The Cleaning Guy LLC uses hospital grade products that are approved and registered by the EPA for the use against SARS-CoV-2 the virus that causes COVID-19.
